Thanks Tim! Your anecdote is a perfect example of how just a little thoughtfulness on the part of an employee can make all the difference. Whenever I get talking about customer service, I bring up In-N-Out Burger as an example. When I lived in California, I loved In-N-Out Burger because the food was good, but also because the service was always fast and friendly. In-N-Out Burger places an emphasis on customer service and it shows. Of course, In-N-Out employees are also paid much better than McDonald's or Burger King workers, so that probably has something to do with it as well.

Thanks for the comment.

Hi Rob:

Thanks for sharing some good choices...I've been curious about Catalyst Ranch for a while, so its good to hear. In 2010, I had a good experience flying Southwest for the first time after some weather-related cancellations from another airline. Probably my favorite customer service experience happened when I shopped at Men's Warehouse in 2009. I took advantage of the buy one suit, get another for $100 offer. As someone who hates to shop for suits (and who's a little challenged in this area), I got great service from the sales rep who was patient with me and kept things light. After I had chosen my suits and got measured, he spent a good 15 -20 minutes showing me the different color combinations and accessories and answering my many questions. It felt more like a consultation with a fashion consultant than a sales pitch. I walked out with a couple suits and with some great ideas on how I could combine various colors. I would have never expected to have such a great shopping experience from buying a suit.

Great post!

Thanks Surj! The Motorhead playlist was excellent. But I was working from Grooveshark, so I was sort of limited in which selections of the Motorhead catalogue I could use. I'll have to invest some time into figuring out a proper playlist for my next go round.

Glad to see a new post from you, sir. And congrats on all the good stuff.

I've been meaning to ask - how'd the Motörhead playlist work out for you? Sometimes that's just what I need to get un-stuck.
